CHAPTER 2. SHOT IN THE PAST.
Malaki switched off the car
engine, picked up his briefcase and jacket before strolling towards the house.
Damn! It was one hell of a day. Thankfully, he was home and all he could think
of was food, shower and of course his wife in his bed; hmm, the thought of this
made him quicken his pace.
He rushed his food, dragged her out of the kitchen
and straight to bed. He was snoring 15 seconds after having sex.
Meanwhile, Tracy was fuming. Two minutes! Two freaking minutes! She wanted to scream, it was
always a straight-to-it-no-strings-attached kind of sex. She always felt
detached right after. This was all Pastor Matthew’s fault.
She remembered how they met in
church during a thanksgiving service while they were in school. He sat beside her;
they exchanged brief handshakes and all the usual ‘church’ pleasantries. After the
service, she went to see her friend Tosin who was a worker. She found out they
were praying so she had to wait till they were through. Suddenly, Tosin came to
tell her the Pastor was calling her, it came as a rude shock to her because she
had never met the Pastor asides seeing him on the pulpit. It didn’t seem wise
not to go; moreover, she didn’t have an option as she couldn’t run out of the
church premises.
She met the Pastor, shivering,
shouting and crying. Now she was overwhelmed and scared. If the Pastor was like
this shouldn’t she start to roll on the floor? The Pastor called her name and
brought her mind back to church. He asked her if she knew the brother kneeling
beside him. It was the same guy that sat beside her during the Church service. She
told him he was her neighbour during the service and he laughed. He told her
she couldn’t see beyond the physical; Malaki was going to be her future husband
and their destinies had been tied in heaven, they were going to be together
forever but they were to desist from sex before marriage. She looked at him
like he was mad but he told her if they tried it, all that the Lord had planned
for them would be destroyed. On the other hand, they would enjoy their marriage
if they obeyed.
She later found out that Brother Malaki was a nice person, they
got talking and he found out she had challenges raising her fees and also keeping
body and soul together. She was surprised when he came to her room one night
and handed an envelope to her. He told her the money in it was for her fees and
upkeep. She was weak. It was more than she needed. She was also grateful but in
Pastor’s words any one with more than physical eyes could see she wasn’t in
love with him but over the years she grew to LIKE him very dearly. Her aunt had
told her she went to pray somewhere and they were to get married. So they did.
Now she was in this mess and her
phone rang and brought her thoughts back to life. The voice was unmistakably Henry’s
voice. She asked him how he got her number and he told her to look outside from
the window. She wanted to faint! Henry was just outside the gate. He told her
to meet him downstairs.
Malaki wasn’t different from a
dead man when asleep.
Should she see Henry?
Sex is a major issue that needs to be discussed by intending couples and even the married ones these days. It is an issue that can make or mar the home.

Hmmmmmmm...... Speechless.. Tracy should simply follow her mind
ReplyDeleteWonder why she can't just tell him her mind, I smell trouble with Henry oooooo. Nice story dear
ReplyDeleteMalaki's barbaric manner depicts some of the lack of emotional connect men have displayed. The move to satisfy all his hunger, totally off. Wonder why women have these choice dilemma. met a lady who fantasized about her ex while married. it's ur choice deal with it.
ReplyDeleteShe should have prayed about it first and received her own conviction, i don't blame the Pastor at all. Nobody should see a vision concerning marriage for her Pastor or not without her praying and confirming it by herself before going into it.
