Shh..Peace

It’s pretty lovely how chatting with the people around you can make things dawn on you.

My friends Ada, Tomisin and Lateef and I went to visit another friend of ours last weekend. We call her biggest sis, she was celebrating her son’s 7th birthday and we decided to honour her with our presence.

We took a cab and since there was traffic we decided to take selfies and chat instead of just looking like ‘bolo’

Man-Drama

 CHAPTER 10.
Tracy alighted from the tricycle and walked into her office premises. She’d had a very busy weekend: she was awake for most of Friday night.  She was shocked that night when she heard a knock on her door at past 1am. It was a stranger asking for her help. She saved the non-Nigerian who said he was chased by touts that believed he was rich.

They wanted to collect all he had and kill him so they attacked him but he was able to fight those who held him down and run away before the full pack of wolves pounced on him. He had an injury on his arm and several cuts on his back. She gave him first-aid, food and a place to sleep.

She didn't believe all he said until she heard some guys making noise and saying they had lost him. It took the effort of security men to disperse them.

After she let him in, she wondered why she decided to help him.  He hardly said anything and left before she woke up on Saturday and she was glad. She just found a note where he scribbled the words ‘thank you’.

There was no power supply and she didn't even see his face. That made it even better. She had enough man-drama and didn't need any more of it.

WHAT TIME MADE YOU APPRECIATE.

What time made you appreciate.

Eko my Lagos! This ever bustling city where some people don’t sleep. I’ve been to different parts of this city from its heart on the Island, another extreme called Folu (Ibeju-Lekki  Local Government) to various places on the mainland. It’s wonderful to know some people don’t wink during the night and I’m not talking about security men but about people who don’t work at night. Some people just want to club or go for a vigil or just want to earn a living. Cheers to all!

DOUBLE WAHALA

                                               CHAPTER 9.

Henry was startled. He woke up and the pain he felt on his shoulder was overwhelming. He wanted to scream. To make matters worse, the nurse asked how he felt. If she was a male nurse, he would have wrung her neck or given her a punch to die for but he was sure the hospital would give him an analgesic that would lead to his death or worse still, paralyze him for the rest of his crazy life.

He didn’t respond but gave her a cold stare. She kept questioning and smiling at him. She could just shoot him instead of the smile. A smile didn’t make the world go round or get the right things in life. It seemed she got the message and decided to take a walk but not before she told him to buzz her if he needed anything.

Her name was Florence. He didn’t give 2f’s, she could go to hell for all he cared.
