Chapter 4 - Serious Wahala.

Malaki was sweating. He had asked all his neighbors, not one person saw his wife. This was one of the reasons why all the neighbors should have agreed to get a security man whether they had a jam gate or not.

She didn’t say she was going anywhere so how come she disappeared? Her phone was upstairs and his mind was running! He didn’t even know what to think anymore. He just hoped and prayed she was safe wherever she was.

He broke down in tears and prayer while he was in the bathroom. She was his wife and he had always loved her. Since he couldn’t make a formal police report till it was 24 hours, he decided to alert all of their friends and family.

He kept shouting at his subordinates and wasting paper at work. Someone even whispered “cranky old hag”, and he simply hissed; if only they knew what he was going through. His phone was ringing and it upset him.

Couldn’t people just read between the lines and see he wasn’t in the mood? It suddenly dawned on him that it might just be his wife! He yanked the phone from the table but it was too late as the phone had stopped ringing.

He kept dialing the number but it was busy so he decided to give it a little time. A message came in and as he digested the message, sweat licked up his face. It was from his wife, and she said she was at the eatery in front of his office. He was sure he would break down at the end of the day.

He dashed out of the office and ran to the eatery. He was more than elated she was okay but then he saw the sadness in her eyes and he was disturbed.

She told him she was sorry she left the house abruptly and then she let the cat out of the bag. She told him about Henry, how they met, what they’ve been through together, how she has always loved inspite of everyone including Malaki, the flower on her table and all that happened the previous night.

Then she dropped the bombshell; she wanted to go back to Henry. He was sure his heart stopped beating. His marriage was barely born and this woman was thinking of flushing it down the drain; he was sure someone was playing games with his mind so he pinched himself to be sure he wasn’t dreaming.

He felt numb and didn’t know what to do. He loved this woman with all of his heart and he couldn’t believe what he just heard.  He felt lost, she just told him his sex was trash and he wished the earth could have swallowed him.

How could she say she felt detached right after? He gave his all into it, touching her, loving her and she said it was just two minutes? He thought it was about five to seven minutes! Moreover, who doesn’t sleep right after? It wasn’t just demanding, it was energy sapping and she ought to be grateful! Sebi?

He noticed there were no lies in her eyes. He didn’t think she was lying about it. Was it that bad that it had to make her turn to that hellboy-son-of-the-devil numbskull who was trying to steal her away from him? Was he that good and what did he do? Wait! Where did he think he was coming from?

What gave him the right to think he could dash in from Pluto and cart his wife away?

He must be out of his mind!

This marked the beginning of what is called “smack-down” in wrestling.

Let the battle begin and each contestant put on his armour.
