CHAPTER 1. –THE TERMINATOR

Tracy woke up and starred into the rising sun, Malaki her husband was nowhere in sight and then she remembered he went to work. 

Speaking of work, she checked her beside clock and found out it was 6.32am. She sprang out of bed like lightening and dashed into the bathroom and took a quick shower and dressed up. She made it out of the house before 7.

 Now this honeymoon had gotten into her head as she still couldn’t believe she had overslept. She was even dreaming about it. She arrived at work at 8.48am. What a hectic Monday Morning!

On her table was this rose flower in a pot, OMG, it was very beautiful, but the funny thing was the fact that no one knew who it was from. It was delivered by a post man was all she gathered. Since it came with a note, she decided to read it.

Wait! There was an inscription on the envelope that rang a bell that gave her this eerie feeling and she decided to push away. In it was a poem titled Angel of my life.

Angel of my life.

My darlyn,

The one who stands as a sun in my life

The one who fills my life with gold

As strongly as a sweet scent scintillating in a room

Just like the coffee we both shared

While dressed and undressed

I’m sure you’ll never forget that day

And midnight (don’t be shy)

My angel,

Knowing what we went through together

Still burns its way into my heart

I’ll gladly give up all I am and all I will be

To be with you

I’m, coming for you

I’ll leave no stone unturned.

Henry!!!

Tracy placed her hand on her forehead and found out she was perspiring. Henry was her former boyfriend whom she loved dearly and saved her from her father’s heavy hand. Her father was a drunk and would beat her mercilessly whenever he was drunk. 

This was what she had to put up with since her mum died when she was 8. She met him and then she found solace in him. She didn’t start dating him immediately because she was in love with another punk who got her pregnant when she was 13 and ran away. 

Henry took her to a Doctor for the D&C and nursed her back to health and then the two of them became an item.

 
She remembered vividly when her dad came home drunk one night and was raining curses and beating her, Henry came in and helped her get out. 

Unfortunately for him, her father threw a bottle on his back and he always carried that scar. He never allowed anyone bully her even if it was at his own detriment. 

He had to stay in the police cell for a month because a Corporal wanted to date her and he gave the Corporal a punch that knocked out two of his teeth.

He had to go to Benin republic to start a business and send her to school. He started sending her money but then she stopped receiving money or messages from him and she was disturbed for a whole semester until her classmate Malaki came to her aid. 

He saw her through school and they went for their master’s degree together. Although she loved Malaki, she knew Henry was the man of her heart.

And now he was coming back for her.

Her marriage was just one week old.

What was she going to do?
