Chapter 5 - Behold the wise one!

CHAPTER 5.

Tracy sat by the bath tub while her thoughts drifted away. She thought about how her life has been topsy-turvy since she got married or rather since she got back from her honeymoon. She thought about the tripod of love and emotions between Malaki, Henry and her. She thought about all the time she had spent with Henry in the past few days, how she enjoyed herself all the while, the sex, the outings, and every single moment she spent with him, there was never a dull moment as she enjoyed herself to the max except for her conscience that was always gnawing at her.

Malaki wasn’t the perfect person but he was okay. He just had his head in the clouds which was also not too good but she broke his heart with all the harsh things she said to him, although true but a little harsh. She felt there was something going on between Malaki and Henry. Henry was keeping quiet but he could be dangerous coz he was a street guy.
After three days, she took a deep breath and had to do the inevitable; to switch on her phone. It kept beeping for a while and she closed her eyes to steel herself for the worst message she was going to receive. She opened her eyes and saw many unsolicited messages, a mail from Malaki which made her heart skip a beat  but she couldn’t muster the strength to read it for now, it made her cast  her mind back to all the drama that was going on in and around her life. She had to ask herself if she really understood what she was doing as she put a hand on her forehead while reading.
A message caught her attention. It was from Auntie Phil! Her one and only Aunt who understood her. She wasn’t her real aunt, she met her in school and they had always clicked. They talked about everything and anything. She loved her because Aunt Phil had a way of telling you what she felt and also proffered the wisest solution to any problem. She literally put herself in your shoes on any matter to sympathise with you and then gave you the right advice and scolding that you needed. Aunt Phil had warned her in school not to get close to a particular lady who she liked and also not to trust what the Pastor said. Tracy avoided the lady and true to Aunt Phil’s word, the lady and her close friends died in a car crash but as for Malaki, Tracy was young and she believed anything the Pastor said was from God. Why? The Pastor was a man of God.
The message was short, Auntie Phil just wanted to know how she was doing, she had been trying to reach her but all her efforts proved abortive and so Tracy was to call her when she received the message; she also didn’t say it without her usual comical manner as she called her a bush girl and she had to laugh in the midst of all that was happening. She pinged her and they agreed to meet at their favourite hangout within an hour. Henry had gone to god-knows-where and so she decided to see Aunt Phil.
Aunt Phil was looking as radiant as always. Her chocolate skin was glowing and she looked so pretty and petite. Her natural dreads, diastema and the soft curve of her body made her look like she was in her mid-twenties. She had a way of swaying her hips and bag in the same direction. It made her very attractive. They hugged and chatted for the first thirty minutes coz she knew aunt Phil just wanted her to relax before going into the koko.
Tracy decided to tell her all that was going on as tears trickled down her cheeks. Aunt Phil held her as she spoke and when she was calm enough Aunt Phil scolded her for not heeding to her words then, she reminded her of how she warned her about the relationship but she was persistent; sometimes, human beings read their own meaning to what is happening around them as even the bible (Paul) says we see in part but she was too foolish to see it then.
She told her to go back to Malaki. Henry was exciting and pleasurable but it wasn’t going to last and it had no future. The wisest thing would be to go back to Malaki and patch the marriage and try to make it work. She as Aunt Phil listened to what Pastors had to say but she decided there were some things she would test on her own.
Aunt Phil advised her to call Malaki, sit and settle their differences. It was going to be a difficult road. Tracy explained all that happened between Malaki and her, what she put him through and all she said to him. Moreover, it would be difficult for him to understand considering his kind of person. Aunt Phil told her to relax and give it a try. There was nothing important that isn’t worth giving a try.
Now to the cause of the entire problem.
 Henry!
How was she going to make him stay off even if she convinced Malaki?
