CHAPTER 18. EURIKA: FLY AWAY!

Since she got home, Tracy took the time to reminisce about the event at the ware house.

When she told Jamal she wanted the best man among the two men, she had no idea it was going to turn out this way.

Hearing the screams of both men tore her heart and she had to pace around the room to calm her frayed nerves.

She remembered how she began with both men and wondered how it grew into a bag of stone. Could things have turned out better?

She took a deep breath and sighed. She wished Aunt Phil was with her to counsel her. If only she was able to heed her prior counsel.

Aunt Phil had told her to settle her differences with Malaki. Since they were separated, she tried to reach him on his phone but he didn’t pick up; later his number wasn’t reachable.

She wondered who was to be blamed.

Was it her fault that her dad was a drunk and Henry was her deliverer who stole her heart while she was young?  Or that she lost contact with him for years and he came back to her, knowing full well she was married?

Or could it be that her marriage was shaky before she even got married?

Yes, she chose to marry Malaki because the Pastor said ‘God said so’. Apparently, God saying so wasn’t enough.

Malaki handled all her bills in the university for three years, sent her abroad for a professional Masters degree and assisted her in securing a job that could make her smile to the bank at anytime.

It dawned on her: she didn’t marry him because she loved him, but she married him as a compensation, she was grateful.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to sustain a marriage. Now she knew.

Listening to all that was happening inside the warehouse shocked her. Malaki was no longer interested. Jamal told him to keep quiet but he didn’t. He was no longer interested and he confessed it was his fault.

He made the pastor tell her to marry him. He was footing the Church’s bills so Pastor Matthew had to assist him.

Jamal or MoF (as they called him) told her she could leave with her man. He arranged a bus for the women and Malaki to leave. He bade Tracy goodbye and reminded her to give him a call when she began her company.

On her way out, Florence told Henry he was going down as she had told security agents that he was involved in drugs. He was wanted.

Henry informed Tracy to go home, pick her passport and stay with his friend in Trinidad and Tobago till he was settled.

Would Henry come back to her again? Would she find peace with him? This was her thought. Think, think, think was all she had been doing for the past 2 hours.

Then the Eurika came; she knew what to do.

She called Jamal that she was ready to start the company and she wanted it in his country so she would work directly with him.

He agreed and the rest is history!

THE END.
