If
tomorrow never comes
And I
still have today
Then I’ve
got the power to hover and linger
To keep
working at the threshing floor
To keep
make more juice at the winepress
To work
on the darkness of my coal
If
tomorrow never comes
I will
sit by the fire
Melt
myself away
Ensuring
more sweat and blood
Till it’s
the wee hours of the day
If
tomorrow never comes
I’ll
take in the greens to purge out the green
I’ll
lick the mud
And
dance with the ashes
And let
Gandalf decide
Whether
hay or nay
So fox
can work out the way
I will
sit on my butt
With
shacks and sacks for covering
And
paddle my boat
But
wait
I see
Venus faintly
Here
comes tomorrow

Lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an hypothetical piece with shade of realism and hint of hope.
