WHO TO REMEMBER

Sometimes we get carried away in work and all that seems to be drawing our attention that we forget ourselves and get drowned in all that's on our worktable.

Sometimes you need to spoil yourself a little. It doesn't matter if you don't have the money for a dream vacation or if you have many hungry mouths at home waiting for your money.

In case you don't know, young people are dying from sudden heart attacks and what seems like minor illnesses. People are engrossed in work and forgetting everything else.

Read: WHAT TIME MADE YOU APPRECIATE.

One day you'll find out that you missed so many important things all because of a questionable sacrifice; and the questionable sacrifice hurts when it comes from family.

This is a picture of a questionable sacrifice.

My friend Sola told me of his mum's story: she had the opportunity to go to school but she didn't because her own mother was late and she was the eldest of 6 siblings. She worked and toiled very hard for her siblings to go to school so they could have meaningful lives. There were days she didn't eat or wear good underwear or clothes just because of them.

When they had good jobs, none of them remembered her (this is not Nollywood movie). They rode in big cars and had houses of their own but they didn't think of her and when Sola’s dad was late, she went to them so they could help her children but they turned their backs on her.

What it did to her and what it would do to anyone (in most cases) is make you reflect and regret all you've done (because you’re wondering if it was worth it and how your life would have been better if you had worked on your own life) which would in turn make you parched and dry.

This is why I said you need to enjoy yourself and take a break once in a while. You don't need to have a fat bank account, just take some money and buy your favorite meal from a restaurant around you and enjoy it or buy a dress for yourself, see a movie or something. If you find yourself in her shoes it's the little things you did for yourself against all odds that would make it worthwhile.

  1. That's true. Sometimes what your family would do will make you hate the idea of having them around u

  2. Its good to give yourself a good treat once in a while. My friend's mum suffered a lot and she just slumped and died like that after suffering for her children. It's sad

  3. And people should learn to go for check up. A stitch in time saves nine
